Storage Hacks for Quilting Chaos
Confession time: I’m a creative mess maker. But over the years, I’ve picked up a few tricks to keep the chaos *mostly* under control — and save time hunting for lost tools.
🧺 Fabric Storage
I fold fat quarters and yardage around comic boards or a 6½” ruler. Stash them upright in baskets or cubes — it’s functional AND pretty.
🧵 Notions & Threads
Clear plastic drawers or divided boxes (like fishing tackle boxes!) work great. Group by function — threads, needles, rotary blades — so you can grab and go.
📦 Project Bins
One project, one bin. Include the fabric, pattern, notes, and extras. It’s like meal-prepping, but for quilts.
🪣 Bonus Tip: Label everything. Future You will thank Past You.
Quilting is more fun when you can find your stuff. What’s your best storage hack?
